Feeling Like a Horrible Person

Feeling Like a Horrible Person

Sometimes, Lord, I feel as if I am a horrible person. I have done so much wrong in my life.

Today I’m going to:

Ask You Lord to see me as You do

That I will see the good in me as I reach for You

When we think about the past.. about the regrets that we have and the things we are so sorry for; when we think about the stupid choices that we’ve made and how much we’ve messed up, we can end up seeing ourselves as a horrible person. Stupid, worthless and ashamed of who we see ourselves as.

Yet, when God looks at us, He looks at us with eyes that see a pure child. God gives us the beauty of a “clean slate” when we put our trust, our faith and our life direction in His hands. God looks at us with the eyes of the best parent ever. Once you begin to grasp the greatness of His love for you, you will understand that whatever your views of yourself have been, the power of God’s love is more than able to recreate you from the moment that you begin your relationship with Him.

2 Cor 1:22 He anointed us, 22 set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit

  1. This is so true and uplifting. Indeed, He sees us through Christ’s finished work on the cross–we are perfectly righteous IN HIM. His love is UNFAILING and EVERLASTING–even when our behavior or attitudes are “less than” how we want to be. God bless you BIG.

  2. This IS so encouraging and beautiful. One thing I never learned to read or interpret the bible growing up as a Catholic, we were forbidden to read alone ever. I love reading positive and uplifting passage like that.

    1. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and comment. I feel very blessed to have been able to know that you’ve been touched by this.
May God bless you abundantly as you seek to know Him more.

  3. I love this. I literally typed this entire paragraph and then my computer just went somewhere else. OH well. I will give you the short version. I needed this. Almost all my life I’ve been deceived by MY OWN truth. It’s dogged me, and skewed how I see things and also how people show up for me in life. How I see them I mean. It’s so very hard for me to share about anything and blogging is huge for me. I’m so glad you have this blog about God. He’s like my favorite person in the whole world, universe. I love that you love HIM too! Good night sweet Easter Ellen. I like to say you name! 😀

    1. 🙂 It is always put there for someone special. God knows what to say and how to say it. I am grateful that He allows me the honour of writing something that touches your heart or any other. I thought to myself, before I started this blog, that even if it touches one person, years down the road, the effort is well worth it.
God bless you, sweet woman. Wish you could see yourself as God does and as we all do here. ❤

          1. I won’t be able to look until later. on my way to get a gift for my boyfriend’s brother-in-law’s birthday. Then dinner at Tony’s parents’ house. I hope that my medication sticks with me while I am out!

I would be happy to hear from you :)
